The Right Portable Projector

How To Choose The Right Portable Projector Screen

The uses of projectors and screens are wide and varied. At times they are stationary, used only in one location. It could be a home theater room in your house, or a business conference room. Other times, projectors and screens are portable. They travel with you for business or entertainment purposes. Whatever your wants or needs are, there is solution. The trick is finding the right solution. The following will break down some of the standard portable screen types and offer insight into which type is the right fit for you.
projector screens
Before we get into the screen types, you need to do a little leg work before you actually start shopping. We hear far too often of someone seeing a projector screen at a friend’s or at some event which they really like. That person goes out and buys it, only to find that it’s not exactly what they were looking for.
Don’t be this guy.
Spend some time before you start shopping. Write down what you will use it for, how much space you will need, how much space you can afford to part with, and, most importantly, whether this projector screen will need to move. The portability of your screen is a huge factor. We are going to stick with portable screens and look at the different types available.

Truss Projection Screens
These projection screens are the ones you usually see at business conventions and trade shows. The base and framework are typically made of a lightweight metal, and the screen is stretched over the metal frame.
Truss projection screens offer excellent quality, which is why they are frequently used in professional situations. Because of the high quality, you will pay a higher price, but if you are looking for top performance, these are tough to beat.

Pull-Up Screens
These are also excellent for trade shows and conventions, because they are both easy to use and offer good quality.
One of the best features of the pull-up screen is how quickly it can be assembled. The base sits on the floor and contains the rolled-up screen. To open the screen, you simply pull it upward, out of the base, and fasten it to a hook or bracket at the top. These portable screens can literally be set up in seconds and offer good quality.

Table-Top Projector Screens
The table screen is another great portable option. It functions efficiently in what can best be described as an accordion motion. The screen is contained in a base which is positioned vertically on the table. To open it, you pull outward and, once the screen is maximized, you lock it in place. Then, feet or supports can be pulled out to support the screen.
Table-top screens are great for a variety of uses. For business, they are excellent when presenting to small groups. For families, they are a great way to watch a movie, or share images and videos with friends and relatives.

Tri-Pod Screens
You are probably most familiar with tri-pod projector screens. The screen portion usually functions similar to a pull-up screen, where it is opened and fastened in place. Supporting the screen is the tri-pod base.
The biggest benefit the tri-pod offers is positioning during use. These are ideal for business presentations. They give the presenter the ability to engage with the visuals, while at the same time offering an elevated perspective for greater impact.

The most important thing you can do is to determine which kind of projector screen best meets your needs and how much your budget is before you start shopping. Knowing the different kinds and which one will work best makes your shopping much more efficient.
